Current methods of controlling hair
growth such as shaving, waxing, depilatory creams and electrolysis are
only short term measures and can be relatively painful when undertaken.
Extensive research has been carried out into the use of a laser system
which can safely slow down or stop human hair growth without damaging
the surrounding skin structures.
Our choice of the laser system is Ruby Laser, ideal for this
application. A Ruby Laser produces red light which is highly absorbed in
hair and only minimally absorbed in skin. This means that the hair is
targeted by the light and hence destroyed without any damage to the skin
around the hair follicle. The laser light is only applied to the hair
for less than a thousandth of a second which is enough time to destroy
the hair but not enough to heat the skin. |
